“The Sentinel of York” While this piece serves as stunning decor, it carries a deeper narrative born between the rivers of England and the streets of South America.
The Inspiration: The artwork depicts a fish with a “penetrating look”—always on alert. It was inspired by the artist’s time in York, along the rivers Ouse and Foss, contrasted with memories of living in Buenos Aires where a sense of insecurity often replaced friendly greetings with distrust.
The Resolution: Upon moving to Madrid, the artist found a welcoming atmosphere where strangers looked at one another with kindness. Inspired by this comfort, they gathered abandoned wood to create a creature that transforms that alertness into a guardian-like presence.
