Off the coast of Cayo Guillermo, a small island paradise off mainland Cuba, I met barracudas swimming through its crystal clear waters.
Barracudas have excellent vision and can move at over 40 kilometers per hour. Although they have a bad reputation, when they have rarely attacked humans it is because they mistake identity for prey.
With these works I wanted to show the beauty of instinct, that characteristic that both humans and animals have and that, even if we want to hide it under reasoning, it always comes to the surface.
My barracudas will accompany you in the adventure of finding that balance between instinct and reason. An adventure that you decide whether to enjoy or not.
The barracudas were created in Madrid in the year 2021 during the months that I traveled there to accompany my daughter during her illness. I looked for abandoned wood and with them I decided to create these pieces of sustainable and ecological art. Unique pieces. None of them are the same even though they are all in the same collection and have similar names.
